Dental Sedation and Comfort

It is completely normal to experience anxiety or fear surrounding a dental procedure. Many of our patients find comfort in discussing sedation options before their appointment.

Everyone has different needs for maintaining comfort during a dental procedure. Luckily, there are some great options available to you. We can create a customized plan to make your treatment experience as comfortable as possible. We offer several different methods of sedation to put your mind at ease.

Inhalation, oral, and intravenous sedation are typically used for dental procedures. These options alleviate anxiety, but they are not painkillers. We will still use numbing medications to ensure your physical comfort. Sedation calms the nerves you feel before and during a procedure, so you can relax and trust that you are in good hands.

Laughing Gas

Laughing gas is an inhalation sedative. It is one of the safest and easiest sedation methods and can be utilized for a wide variety of procedures. By inhaling this gas through the nose, patients of all ages can achieve a calm state of mind during treatment.

Oral Sedation

Up to 50% of patients will forego oral surgery due to anxiety. Our goal is to ensure that your nerves don’t get in the way of receiving the care you need. We may suggest you take an oral medication before your appointment to help the procedure go as smoothly as possible.
