Same-day Porcelain Crowns (Cerec)
Technology is so amazing and we are pleased to be able to start and finish crowns in a SINGLE visit!
A traditional dental crown will take two appointments, sometimes more if the lab makes an error :(
The Process:
Unlike traditional crowns that require at least 2 visits, with a Same-day crown, after preparing the tooth, a digital impression is made (this means no gooey impressions!!!), and then your crown is designed and then sent to our in-house milling machine and oven. After it is tried in and polished, it can be bonded in the same day while you are still numb and comfortable. This means there is no need for a temporary crown for a couple weeks while your crown gets made elsewhere!
Which teeth should get a Same-day crown?
Although they are awesome, we don’t recommend Same-day crowns in every case. Whether or not your tooth is a good candidate for a Same-day crown depends on which tooth, how much of the natural tooth would need to be prepared, how much time really is important to you , and some other factors. Dr. Patrick will consider all of these factors when recommending which type of crown. If getting it done in one visit is super important to you, be sure to let us know!
